The Great Gatsby Fashion Part 1: Jay Gatsby

Hey Everyone!

Recently, I have been obsessed with the movie The Great Gatsby. I have watched it a million times already and I just love everything about it. The acting, the clothes, the scenery, the music, everything! I remember reading the book back when I was in high school and loving it. After reading the book, they made us watch the old movie, which was amazing, and ever since then I've been a Gatsby fan :)

You can only imagine how excited I was when they announced that they were going to remake the movie, especially with Leonardo Dicaprio as Jay Gatsby! Leo has always been one of my favorite actors.

But enough of that! Today I just wanted to show you guys how to get Gatsby's look for a decent price. Daisy will be featured in my next post! Since Halloween is around the corner, I know many people will want to dress up as them! I know I do, so this will be helpful for me as well haha!

Jay Gatsby

I'm going to go with one of my favorite looks from the movie: The Ivory, linen suit!

1. Jacket ($121.62 Amazon)

2. Pants ($49.95 Amazon)

3. Shirt ($32.99 Amazon)

4. Vest ($128.00 J. Crew)

5. Tie ($15.99 Amazon) and pocket square ($8.00 The Tie Bar)

6. Shoes ($79.99 Stacy Adams)

7. Walking Stick ($148.00 Brooks Brothers)

Total: $576.54

So, to look like Great Gatsby you do have to spend a little bit of money but, I am sure you can find a pair of similar shoes at home, a blue shirt, a tie and even a vest! You can definitely substitute any of these items with items you already own!

Brooks Brothers did do a Great Gatsby Collection inspired by the movie so if you really want something authentic you can shop there! It is quite pricey though. Let's just say the jacket itself will cost you as much as all of these items together, or even more!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! More fashion coming soon!

Thanks for reading :)

Get the Look: Kate Middleton (Casual)

Hi Everyone!

So everyone is excited about the birth of the Royal Baby Prince George! Isn't he soooo cute? AWW!

Today I decided to do a Get the Look post featuring Kate Middleton. I have always thought her style was so classic and yet fresh at the same time. She definitely is an inspiration to all of us gals.

She wears a lot of dresses and always looks so put together (of course), but she can also look very casual. Today, I wanted to focus on two casual looks.

Look 1

I think she looks so effortless in this picture and so casual. Would be a great look for everyday.

You can go with this shirt:

JC Penney $9.99
Or you could go with a more expensive/ custom made one like the one Kate is wearing from Ralph Lauren.

For pants, these are some basic skinnies from Forever21:

Forever21 $7.80

Or these from Forever21 as well :)

For shoes, there are a lot of options but anything that's a navy wedge could definitely go!

Nine West $69.99

Look 2

This look is super cute. I love the tucked in shirt with the belt. I really like that it is kind of a nude look and that the shirt and shoes match!

This would be a great top because it is longer so you can tuck it in and it looks super comfortable

Zara $25.99
These jeans are perfect because they are dark wash and a bit more slouchy than other skinny jeans

Forever21 $19.80
To finish off the look you need a plain brown belt and a pair of nude flats!

Nine West $49.99

Tilly's $8.99

I really love both of these looks. I think they would both be great to wear everyday, even to school or out with friends. They are super simple to achieve and you will look cute as well as put together :)

Thanks for reading guys and hope you enjoyed!

xoxo

Isn't this so cute?

Getting Fit & Looking Good!

Hi everyone!

I have recently started to work out and wanted to share with you guys where and how I work out and some of the clothes I wear while I work out.

I have always loved to do DVD workouts because I hate going to the gym everyday and I always feel a little uncomfortable. I really wish I had a treadmill at home because I love running on the treadmill but that is not really in my budget at the moment haha!

So I started out doing the Kim Kardashian DVD workouts. I have all three of them in the series and I really love them.

Some people might not particularly like Kim but these DVDs will make you sweat! They are awesome workouts and Kim works with a trainer to show you awesome moves that will make you stronger and leaner.

I always end up going back to these DVDs because they actually work and you can feel your body changing after a couple of weeks.

My only downfall is that I am quite lazy sometimes and "forget" about exercising as I am sure a lot of us do haha.

Recently, I started getting back into it with the help of Blogilates!  She is a pilates instructor and has a  YouTube channel as well as a website and even her own online store(which is super awesome). She is the best trainer you could ask for. Full of energy and she is beautiful inside and out!

She recently came out with her own DVD called POP Pilates which of course I purchased! I have been trying to do it at least three times a week while doing her other workout videos that she constantly uploads on her youtube channel.

Check her out! She is awesome!

So, while I do all these workouts, what do I wear?

I don't know if any of you have heard of the brand called Lucy but they make workout clothes. They are super comfortable and quite affordable. They are great quality as well.

These are some of the items I own:

These shorts are super comfortable and moisture wicking which is great if you sweat a lot!

This Cross Back Tank is amazing because it has great support with the built in bra and the thick straps. I absolutely love it. I have this tank in a pink and white pattern. (If you click the link you will see the color I have it's called Sangria) :)

This mesh half zip hoodie is super comfortable and breathable after a workout or even during. I have it in this color and also the dark grey.

This capri is super soft and comfortable and also moisture wicking. I love it! It has a slit in the back and it looks really flattering on. I love working out in these!

Here is me wearing the pullover mesh top! Don't mind the face haha

So these are just a couple of items I own and I love to work out in! I have a few more but I am not going to bore you with them. haha! You can check out Lucy.com for more amazing workout wear!

I usually like to work out in shorts or capris because I get pretty hot. Plus they are super comfortable and allows a lot of movement like for Pilates for example.

Ok guys, I would love to know if you do any type of workout or if you know of any DVDs that you think I would be interested in! Please list them in the comments below :)

much love.

Swimsuit Season!

Hi everyone!

Long time no see!

So, since the weather is getting warmer (at least here in TX), I decided to do a post about swimsuits!

Who doesn't love laying by the pool or going to the beach and rocking an awesome swimsuit?

There are so many swimsuits out there that range from really cheap to super expensive!

These are three that are my favorite at the moment and that I own:

I bought this one from JC Penney and I really like it because the top is a push up! I really love this mint color as well :) It looks like it would be a Victoria's Secret bathing suit but it is half the price!

This one I have from my sister and I really like it! It is from Victoria's Secret

This one is from VS as well but it is the fuchsia one not this particular one. Same style just different color. I couldn't find a picture of the pink one anywhere!  (It is last season's so it's hard to find on the website)

So these are three of my favorite ones which I am hoping to wear this year. :)

I do have my eye on one that I saw on the lovely Nina Dobrev recently

I think it is supper pretty and flattering! I really love the colors :)

You can actually buy the swimsuit from HERE (Agent Provocateur)

Thank you guys for reading and have an awesome day! :)

Very Irresistible Givency Review!

Hi guys!

Today, I want to review a perfume that I have been loving for quite some time but just recently started using it again because I got it as a gift for Christmas from my parents :)

It is the VERY IRRESISTIBLE GIVENCHY SENSUAL EAU DE PARFUM! I absolutely love the scent! It smells so fresh, sweet and feminine.

STORY

This perfume has a little story behind it and it is based on the actress Liv Tyler. That is one of the reasons I tried it in the first place way back when haha. I used to be obsessed with her due to the LORD OF THE RINGS movies. Her character was Arwen in the movies and I thought she was super gorgeous.

Liv is actually the face of Givenchy and "in 2005 the House of Givenchy created a new variety of rose in honor of their muse:  The Liv Tyler Rose". That was the first perfume that she inspired. This one is the second one that was inspired by the first one but the "improved" version. They are both great!

SCENT

I am not that great at describing perfumes but here is what it is described as on the GIVENCHY website:

"In honor of Liv’s growing sophistication and allure, a new, uber-sexy twist on the original Very Irrésistible Givenchy fragrance was created. To Liv’s rose, notes of apple, pear, peony and a host of other blossoms were added and enhanced with hints of sweet grass and vanilla.  The result?  The enchanting, seductive, Very Irrésistible Givenchy Sensual Eau de Parfum".

So, if you are looking for a seductive, sweet, feminine scent this is the one to go with :)

PACKAGING

I think the packaging is really chic and pretty. Looks very elegant. It is a tall glass bottle so you can't really carry it around with you in your purse unless you have a big one :) The lid is in a triangle shape and you can just pull it right off. The color of the bottle is an ombre pink/purple that looks very pretty. The box that it comes in is in the same color but it is holographic, with the GIVENCHY logo on the front.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I really like this perfume, the face of the perfume (Liv Tyler) and everything about it! It is seriously one of the best fragrances that I have ever tried. I had lots of people who don't even know me comment on how good I smell :) So that must be a good sign right?

Thank you all for reading! Let me know in the comments below what your favorite perfume is and if you had ever tried this one before :)

xoxo,
Adela

Celebrity Look Steal: Emma Watson

Hello Everyone!

Today, I wanted to do a Get the Look post and what better celebrity to steal the style from other than Emma Watson? She always dresses so fun and young! This past week she attended the People's Choice Awards where she won an award (YAY) and I thought she looked so pretty and effortless!

The outfit that she is wearing is quite interesting. She makes it work! Even though it looks a little overpowering, that's what fashion is all about, isn't it; Standing out from the crowd!

She definitely likes to mix prints and different textures together which can look too busy or messy, but the way she does it always seems to work! She tends to stay in the same color family which is the best thing to do when mixing together prints and textures!

Top:

So for the top I picked this Go Jane peplum top. It is not cut out like hers but it does have an interesting pattern and it has the different texture, which is the mesh.

Price: $32.50

Go Jane Top
I also picked this top out because, even though it is not as intricate as Emma's it is still quite a statement piece. It has the leather look which makes it appear edgy, as is Emma's outfit and might be a bit more appropriate for some people since it is quite simple.  Also since the skirt is really colorful, this top will balance it out :)

Price: $ 61.57

ASOS.COM
Bottom:

I picked this skirt out because it has an interesting pattern that is in the same color palette as Emma's. It is sequined, which is a bit different but it has the same feel as Emma's skirt.

Price: $ 22.80

Forever21 Skirt

This skirt also has an interesting pattern which is what makes Emma's outfit stand out so much and I think would look great with both tops.

Price: $ 20.70

GoJane.com
Shoes

I picked this shoe because I feel like it compliments the outfit and it has that glittery strappy feel of Emma's shoes.

Price:$29.95
Go Jane

Thank you all for reading! Let me know what you think of this outfit and if you would ever want to recreate it :) If you do, I would love to see pics!! hehe
